Dark Sky Star Bright

Previously ON VIEW January 17, 2026 through January 22, 2026
Dark Sky Star Bright brings together work by regional artists responding to the night skies of northern Wisconsin and Lake Superior—places where darkness still holds space for wonder, reflection, and connection. Across photography, painting, jewelry, textiles, and mixed media, the artists explore the quiet power of stars, moonlight, and seasonal darkness, drawing attention to both the beauty of the night and its increasing rarity.
Presented in conjunction with Bayfield’s Dark Sky Star Bright Festival, the exhibition invites viewers to slow down and look closely—at the sky above, the land and water below, and the creative responses shaped by living in relationship with both. The works on view reflect a shared commitment to stewardship, imagination, and the experience of place after sunset, offering moments of stillness and illumination during the long winter nights.
This exhibit and sale is a partnership with Friends of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Proceeds will go to them to support Dark Sky work throughout the year.
