Here, Finally — Founders’ Exhibition Opening Reception

Here, Finally is the show Island Gateway has been building toward — an introduction to the people who founded this gallery and what they make.

Dale Whittaker’s watercolors and Mary Whittaker’s stitched textiles and quilts fill the gallery together for the first time. The work spans landscapes and interiors, geological formations and intimate moments, the Lake Superior region and the places that shaped two artists before they arrived here.

The opening reception is free and open to the public. Come meet Dale and Mary, see the work, and learn about the gallery’s programming through 2028 — including handwork retreats, a forming collectors guild, and intimate shows that tell a story.
